SoulFlower Studios was founded in 2004 by dancer and Registered Yoga Teacher, Faun Finley. Faun created the studio as a way to share the benefits and spirit of yoga, dance, expressive arts and world music with people from all walks of life. Her mission: to teach body awareness, encourage health and provide a safe and sacred place to flower one's soul through depth of breath, inner focus, physical movement, creative expression and fun!
In 2005 SoulFlower Studios became part of the Studio 318 Collective with Karma Productions and Van Dyke Photography. The goal was to bring you more world dance and world music with an extra ingredient of great photography. But sadly, in 2006 Rico of Van Dyke Photography passed away. Having lost a collective partner, the studio took a new direction focusing more predominantly on world dance, adding zumba, hoop and poi classes to the mix. In 2007, SoulFlower Studios and Karma Productions merged and Studio 318 changed from a collective to one unified business. Please check us out! Studio 318.
Co-owner of Studio 318 (and former director of SoulFlower Studios), Faun Finley, is Certified and Registered Yoga Instructor. Faun began studying Hatha Yoga following two car accidents that left her with soft tissue damage and immense muscle pain. Hatha Yoga reduced the pain and returned much of Faun’s quality of life to her. Faun’s mentor, Ulla Anneli RYT, R.N., studied and trained with Sri Swami Satchidananda. Faun continues to advance her studies with Yogi Amrit Desai in Florida.
Faun also has a 20-year background in dance and live performance, and is the Creative Director for LunaSea Belly Dance Theatre. Faun's degree is in Anthropology of Expressive Culture, emphasizing the ethnographic study of dance and music from around the world. She is trained in myriad expressive art modalities and holds workshops both inside and outside of Soulflower Studios. Faun is from California, but is committed and connected to the Greensboro Community. Among the organizations and institutions Faun has taught and worked with are:

A Little More History: SoulFlower
Studios began at SoulFlower Yoga in California. Upon visiting
Greensboro, the idea for a studio was born andthe owner, Faun Finley,
RYT, moved cross-country. SoulFlower Yoga became SoulFlower Studios, a
vision Faun had for sharing her passion and study of dance, music and
expressive arts along with Hatha Yoga.
